An access log is a comprehensive list of all the files which were accessed by the guests of a certain Internet site. Every file which was requested for whatever reason will be listed, so if you have one webpage with 3 embedded images, one video and one embedded text file, as an illustration, the access log will contain a total of 6 entries - one for each of the 6 files that were accessed when the site visitor opened the page. A log typically contains the file name and path, the date, plus the visitor’s OS, worldwide web browser and IP address. When you log in and check out the Access/Error Logs section of the Control Panel, you will discover a list of all the hostnames with an On/Off button next to all of them. A single click shall trigger the log generation and a second one shall disable it, so you can control this function with great convenience. A Download link inside the same section will enable you to save the gathered content as a text file, which you may then use on your notebook or computer. Whether or not the logs are deactivated, you will still be able to download the data that has been previously generated.
