DKIM, which is an abbreviation for DomainKeys Identified Mail, is a validation system, which blocks email headers from being spoofed and email content from being modified. This is done by attaching an e-signature to each message sent from an email address under a given domain. The signature is issued based on a private cryptographic key that’s available on the outbound SMTP email server and it can be verified using a public key, which is available in the global DNS database. Thus, any email with altered content or a forged sender can be spotted by mail service providers. This approach will enhance your online security enormously and you will know for sure that any e-mail message sent from a business partner, a bank, and so on, is genuine. When you send out email messages, the receiver will also know for sure that you are indeed the one who has sent them. Any email message that appears to be bogus may either be flagged as such or may never appear in the recipient’s mailbox, based on how the given provider has decided to treat such messages.

DomainKeys Identified Mail in Cloud Website Hosting

The DomainKeys Identified Mail option is activated by default for all domains that are hosted in a cloud website hosting account on our cloud servers, so you will not need to do anything on your end to turn it on. The sole requirement is that the given domain should be hosted in a hosting account on our platform using our MX and NS records, so that the emails will go through our mail servers. The private encryption key will be generated on the server and the TXT resource record, which contains the public key, will be published to the DNS database automatically, so you will not need to do anything manually on your end in order to enable this functionality. The DomainKeys Identified Mail email validation system will allow you to send out trustworthy e-mail messages, so if you are sending a newsletter or offers to clients, for instance, your email messages will always reach their target audience, whereas unsolicited 3rd parties will not be able to forge your email addresses.

DomainKeys Identified Mail in Semi-dedicated Servers

When you choose one of the semi-dedicated servers that we are offering, you’ll be able to use the DKIM protection service with any domain name that you add to your new semi-dedicated account without any manual intervention, as our outstanding cloud hosting platform will set up all the needed records automatically, as long as the domain name uses our name servers. The aforementioned is required for a TXT record to be set up for the domain name, as this is how the public key can become available in the global DNS system. The private key will also be added automatically to our mail servers, so every time you send a new email, it will have our system’s digital signature. The number of spam emails continues to rise every year and rather often forged addresses are used, but if you make use of our hosting services, you and your customers or colleagues will not need to worry about that.
